Long Island City, NY March 7, 2012 - Deputy Mayor Steel began his comments to the business and professional community gathered at the LIC Partnership meeting by saying "I thought what I would do is come to friends and give you a bit more detail. People have read a lot about the applied science initiative that Mayor Bloomberg has launched, so today we will go into a bit more detail as to how this has developed, what we think the impact will be, and how it is going to unfold." Before detailing the Roosevelt Island Applied Sciences initiative, Steel put the project in the context of Mayor Bloombergs strategic plan for New York City.
