Long Island City, NY November 14, 2012 - Getting the help you need is not easy. You need to know the facts and the procedures. The Long Island City / Astoria Chamber of Commerce is bringing the right people together in two separate, LIC CHAMBER FACE-TO-FACE events. There is still great confusion about what is possible for small businesses, and how to access emergency and recovery resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs. In fact, we are hearing things that are often conflicting with the reports and announcements that are coming. The SBA's Economic Development Specialist for the New York District Office, Ms. Man-Li Kuo Lin, will administer an "Emergency Relief Workshop" to help with issues relating to FEMA, SBA Disaster, and NYC SBS.  This will help with information and procedures and everyone will be in the same room.  Man-Li K. reports that Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez had successfully organized a similar session on November 9th in lower Manhattan. Rosa Figuroa, Director, LaGuardia Small Business Development Center; LaGuardia Community College will also be available.The "Emergency Relief Workshop" will be held at: Court Square Place 24-01 44th Rd Long Island City, New York 11101 NOTE: The LIC Chamber has partnered to develop the Court Sqaure Conference and Traning Center into an important Conference Center for the Greater Long Island City area. This is actually an extremely convenient location. All four subways 7, G, E, M stop within a short block or two of the Conference Center. All new Hotel Development is nearby.
