Vasile Badaluta is a Renaissance Man. His weekly newspaper and his restaurant serve the appetites of the largest concentration of Romanian and Moldovan people outside of those countries, estimated to be 400,000 – 500,000 people. Vasilie Badaluta is a man of vision, leadership, and very high energy. He has an insatiable appetite himself. He is known to be driven to identify and pursue the very best of life for his fellow Romanian and Moldovan people.
Formerly an Economist in Romania, he and his wife, Adriana, immigrated to the United States 29 years ago seeking political asylum in 1983 from Romanians oppressive Communist rule under Nicolae Ceauºescu . Today, for his people, he has created a leading restaurant and cultural center in NYC. The Bucharest Restaurant in Sunnyside serves as a hub for residents as well as diplomats, entrepreneurs, and other leaders. Vasile passionately watches over every detail of Bucharest Restaurant. It warm, welcoming, and authentic. It contributes to the cultural exchange that is part of the fabric of NYC.
Vasile Badaluta has also established a voice and source of trusted news and information for Romanian and Moldovan people in the United States. As its Chief Editor of the weekly newspaper the Romanian Journal; and as Producer of Romanian Voice TV, Vasilie Badaluta shares his informed point of view and insights about politics, culture, world events and other topics with his readers and viewers.
One of the accomplishments of Vasile is that he gathered over 700 Romanian people in front of the White House in Washington asking that Romania be part of the NATO. His Romanian Voice TV in SUA can be seen by a potential of 50 millions people. In his TV programs he offers Romanians, and all the viewers, images of Romania, its economy, culture, personalities, tourism, etc and he makes known Romanian communities and their lives to the people of the United States that he loves so much as a Patriot.
His Romanian Journal will celebrate its 22nd Anniversary in November 2012.
Recognized for his business skills and leadership, Vasile Badaluta was recently elected to the Board of Directors the Chamber of Commerce serving Greater Long Island City and Astoria. In that role, he will help to guide the local business community to expand and grow through trade, as well as to advocate for the economic, social, and general welfare of the community.
